Setting up a Canoscan FS2710 Film Scanner under Windows XP
Unlike earlier versions of Windows, Windows 2000 and XP do not include "ASPI Support" required by legacy design SCSI devices.

Solution
1. This product can be used with Windows 2000/XP by downloading the WINASPI software from the Adaptec Website.
To Install the Adaptec SCSI ASPI layer WIN32 software version 4.70. Visit
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/suppdetail.html?prodkey=ASPI-4.70
Once ASPI has finished downloading, run it and restart the PC.
2. Then install the Scancraft FS software from
http://www.canon.com.au/products/scanners/scanners_low_medium_volume/canoscanfs2710_drivers.html
Install version 3.6.4 of the Scancraft FS software.
Note: As this is a SCSI device, you will need to ensure that the Scanner is switched on before the PC, each time you boot up and intend to use the scanner.
Ensure that you are logged in to the system as Administrator whilst installing.
